Nethercraigs Sports Centre had been making steady progress in sustainability, e.g by cutting back on single-use plastics. To really make an impact and gauge the progress, the Nethercraigs Sport Centre needed to understand their current carbon footprint and pinpoint the areas with the highest emissions. Lacking the necessary expertise, they brought in Boxfish to help elevate their environmental efforts through the creation of a focused Carbon Baseline Report.
Boxfish compiled a detailed Carbon Baseline Report for the centre. They looked at not just direct energy use (Scope 1 and 2 emissions) but also broader factors like visitor transportation (Scope 3 emissions). Nethercraigs is now considering including more Scope 3 areas to gain a complete view of their emissions. The report offered practical recommendations for reducing emissions and laid out a clear, actionable plan to achieve Net Zero.
Thanks to the Carbon Baseline Report, Nethercraigs Sports Centre now has a clear starting point for understanding their carbon footprint and pinpointing areas for improvement. Thanks to actionable insights and tailored recommendations from Boxfish, Nethercraigs is well on track to achieve Net Zero well ahead of the Scottish Government’s 2045 deadline.
