Overview

Alzheimer Scotland provides a wide range of specialist services for people with dementia and their carers. They offer personalised support services, community activities, information and advice at every stage of the dementia journey—working to ensure nobody in Scotland faces dementia alone.

Situation

We’ve been providing comprehensive utility management for Alzheimer Scotland across their full property portfolio since 2014. This partnership has evolved over the yearsfrom an initial single water audit, to us now supporting the organisation with the full breadth of our services.

Solution

Our work with Alzheimer Scotland has involved technical project support, utility procurement, consumption management, invoice validation, management information reporting, and the ongoing day-to-day management of their various contracts and suppliers. We have also managed compliance with the UK Government’s Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (ESOS).

Result

Since 2014 the Boxfish team have achieved financial savings in excess of £50,000 via our comprehensive energy and water tendering process, simplified utility contracts, streamlined supplier relationships, dispute resolution support, assistance with legislative compliance, and an improvement in their utility consumption.

We initially started working with Boxfish in 2014 on a single water audit project, but the relationship quickly expanded due to the good results achieved; first into ESOS Phase 1 compliance and then eventually into full utility management support across all of our sites. Their approach of building a long-term partnership met our specific requirements and now we view the Boxfish team as a valuable external resource helping to meet the needs of the organisation. They share our aims of working to ensure the long-term sustainability of our organisation and we look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.
