Overview

We are expanding our Operations Team at Boxfish — a Top 10 Energy & Utility Consultancy, headquartered in Glasgow.

We are looking for experienced enthusiastic Billing Analysts to join our young, vibrant and high-performing team that delivers first-class service and industry-leading results.

THE ROLE

As a Billing Advisor, your role will involve, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Managing utility accounts for a portfolio of clients working in conjunction with the Account Manager
  • Deliver best in class customer service to all clients within your portfolio
    Process Invoice validation for Electricity, Gas and Water
  • Recording cost and consumption data from invoices and other sources into our validation system
  • Generally dealing with clients and suppliers by telephone and e-mail
  • Management of billing issues and queries on behalf of clients, logging these with the supplier and capturing them on our CRM system
  • Handling meter readings received and providing these to the necessary suppliers
  • Handling inbound telephone calls where received
  • Build and maintain a good working relationship with each client as their main billing contact
  • Periodic proactive review of client records utilising in house reports to spot issues in advance and taking corrective action
  • Highlight or question any unexpected changes to usage or cost to clients or suppliers
  • Identify savings or opportunities for clients where invoicing is not correct
  • Maintain clear notes and copies of key correspondence – logging both internally in our sharepoint folders and on our CRM
  • Maintain clear, accurate and up to date records on our system
  • Maintain the relationship with the assigned Account Manager by having regular catch ups on workloads, reporting and ensuring they are always aware of the current state of play
  • Provide clients with a first class and professional service

THE PERSON

UK Energy or utility experience is desirable although not essential for the right candidates.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years’ experience in the energy industry within an Billing Analyst or a similar role with experience of how UK Energy invoices are formulated, what each of the charges contained in the invoice are for and understand the mechanisms behind these.

You understand and can demonstrate a working knowledge of:

– Microsoft Excel, Word and Power point (Essential)

– The UK energy market in general terms and what the differences are between Domestic, SME and commercial sectors of the energy industry (Desirable)

– The UK Water market – the differences in Scotland and England infrastructure

You will have a professional can-do attitude, are an ambitious team player with an analytical mind, a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills and previous experience working for a client focused /energy service company – working from home you will be a self-starter with a great work ethic and willing to do the right thing for the client every time. You will have initiative and the ability to take control of your own portfolio.

Where energy experience is desirable, we will consider those individuals who exert the right can do attitude combined with literacy and numeracy skills that will be essential to the success of the role.

Boxfish actively encourage a flexible hybrid working model, meaning you’ll be working from home 90% of the time – no more commuting to work!*

Additionally, from April 2023 we have been trialling a 4 day week, meaning you will enjoy up to 81 paid days leave a year – and a long weekend of Friday-Monday every 9 weeks.**

**Subject to successful completion of the probationary period or at the management teams discretion you will be invited to join the 4 day working schedule with normal hours not extended . **4 Day working is monitored to ensure that clients are effectively managed and may on rare occasions revert to 5 days for short periods of high workload.
