A Fractional Sustainability Manager (FSM) is an experienced sustainability professional who can support and guide businesses on sustainability strategy, carbon reporting, net zero planning and environmental compliance on a part-time basis.
Unlike a traditional consultant who delivers a fixed project, a Fractional Sustainability Manager provides ongoing, embedded support, gaining a deep understanding of how the business operates. They become an extension of your in‑house team, with the level of support being flexible and tailored to the organisation’s size, sector and obligations.
Primarily FSMs define the priority actions as the first task, considering the organisation’s needs, industry best-practice and sustainability best-practice. Typical examples include:
