Avondale Care Home wanted to strengthen its energy and carbon management approach and gain a clearer understanding of its overall emissions. Having previously supported them with SECR reporting and ESOS assessments, Boxfish were asked to broaden their emissions coverage by analysing selected Scope 3 categories. The aim was to provide a more complete picture of Avondale’s environmental impact and support ongoing compliance efforts, as required under their local reporting obligations.
Boxfish worked with Avondale to review their activity data and identify the Scope 3 categories required by the local authority to be included in their reporting. This included analysing emissions from areas such as waste and water to expand beyond their existing SECR boundaries. The findings were integrated into a defined carbon reporting framework, providing Avondale with a more complete understanding of their total footprint and ensuring alignment with their local reporting obligations.
The project enabled Avondale Care to better understand and manage its environmental impact, particularly in relation to their indirect emissions impact. Boxfish’s analysis provided a foundation for future carbon reduction planning and demonstrated continued compliance with UK energy and carbon reporting regulations.
