As part of ACCORD Hospice’s commitment to improving sustainability across the
organisation, they began investigating solar photovoltaic (solar PV) technology as a way to
increase energy efficiency and redirect more resources toward the services they deliver. As
they did not have the necessary in-house expertise, they needed specialist Solar PV Feasibility expertise to help
progress this project.
Boxfish provided exactly that solar PV Feasibility expertise. We calculated the appropriate size and scale of the
system, reassessed all existing quotes against the optimal design, and after managing the tender exercise, worked directly with the chosen supplier to secure
the most effective solution for ACCORD.
The system is expected to generate significant annual savings of around £10,000 with every
pound saved through greener technology, redirected back into what matters most,
providing palliative and end of life care for the hospice’s patients, their families, and the wider community.
Alongside financial savings, the new solar PV system is expected to reduce ACCORD’s carbon
footprint by 12.5 tonnes of CO₂ per year, supporting their long-term sustainability goals.
Boxfish offered the solar PV Feasibility expertise and guidance we needed to progress in our sustainability
journey. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and their support was always professional,
proactive, and they were genuinely invested in ACCORD’s mission. They listened,
supported, and advised, strengthening not only our sustainability efforts but also our
confidence in making the right long-term decision. This project marks an important milestone
in ACCORD’s sustainability journey, one that was made significantly easier thanks to the
help of Boxfish.
